Gaming Turfs - The Place for Gamers

Gamingturfs.com is a new social networking site that features an online gaming community built to unite gamers alike.

Gaming Turfs features many of the familiar features of an online community which include:
  • One-to-One Chatting
  • Blog Creation
  • Personal Profiles
  • Webcam Capabilities
  • Friends Lists
  • Video Attachments
  • Music
  • Photo Management
  • In-House Desktop Messenger (video chat, instant messaging, e-mail, etc)
  • And More
Gamingturfs.com is still relatively new and under continued development, but coupled with the support of the gaming community and the enthusiasm of "Gaming Turf's" developers there is great potential for a site like this.

Other sites such as Facebook and Myspace are widely known and used on a daily basis, but one problem a lot of these websites have is an issue with privacy. Some people just don't want their gaming buddies to know exactly who they are and who their real-life friends are. So why not sign up to a website that is explicitly dedicated to the gaming-community alone and now you can feel comfortable connecting with like-minded individuals without exposing your private life.

 99.9% Complete
 Update

Quick Update:

The scanner is now 99.9% complete and will be ready for BETA testing within the next week. It has been completely re-written from the ground up.

The amxx plugin is 100% complete and has also been re-written and highly optimized.

The Lightweight version of 'Scan Center' is currently under construction and shouldn't take too long to complete. Most of the hard work is done.

I don't have an ETA on the Full-Featured version of 'Scan Center' as it is more complex and difficult project that I am working on so it will take some time. I will post progress updates as I complete more.

So what has taken so long?

I have been coding 6 pieces of software simultaneously. "The Scanner", "The Plugin", "Scan Center", "Scan Center Light", "Hack File Definition Development", "Staff Tools"

I have designed everything down to the graphics and it has been a fairly large undertaking. I am surprised I made it this far without getting tired of the project, however I am really looking forward to seeing the Server Buddy System launched. I am only able to code in-between work & family life. It's been tough, but I will finish this project if it kills me lol.

Thanks for the patience and support,
-Sparkz

 Resume Project
ScheduleThe Server Buddy Project is scheduled to resume on Wednesday Nov. 14th. I am very close to releasing a lightweight BETA and I am privately accepting BETA testers.

I am just adding legal agreements to the scanner and small things like "attach a note presets" The bulk of the software is completed and it runs nicely.

Heres some quick stats regarding the new scanner:

FILES SCANNED: 2,084,970
TIME COMPLETED: 1893.719 seconds = 31.5 Minutes
PACKAGE SIZE: 3,712kb

It takes approximately 10minutes per 80gigs as far as the initial tests show. After some tweaks here and there the scan speed will be increased and the output file size will be decreased signifigantly.

All in all I am happy with the initial tests and the new scanner is definately showing some promise.

Anyways like I said above, coding will resume on Wednesday.

 Close to BETA Release
UpdateIt's been a while since I have made a posting regarding the status of Server Buddy.

I am pleased to say that the new scanner is now 99% complete and a BETA version will be released to affiliates & beta testers very soon. Possibly within the next few days.

There is still quite a bit of work to be completed on the 'Scan Center' however I am considering releasing a Lightweight version until the full-featured version can be completed.

I am still very busy with other projects that I am involved in, but I will continue to post updates from time to time regarding the status of Server Buddy.

I trust users will enjoy the new release when it becomes available.

Cheers,
-Sparkz

 Progress Update (October 6th)
 Update

A quick update on the progress. Things are still moving along smoothly and a lot of progress behind the scenes is being made. I have spent a few good solid days coding and I haven't hit any serious roadblocks *touch wood*

I will post screenshots of the new software soon when the GUI is looking more solid and I will be soliciting beta testers soon to test pilot the new software.

As always I look forward to releasing Server Buddy to the gaming community. I am confident users are going to love it.

-Cheers

 Progress Update (Sept. 26th)
 Update

Heres a quick project progress update:

-The main AMXX Plugin is complete and ready for 'use', but will be further optimized and new functions are planned to be added to extend the functionality of the new 'Scan Center'  (These optimizations and additions are however low priority at the moment)

-The scanner itself is pretty much complete (yes it scans lol) it just needs a couple more functions so that it can correctly interact with the gaming server & scan center. A majoirty of the actual 'Scan' functions are complete though.

-The scan center is coming together fairly quickly which is an unexpected surpirse. I had to overcome a lot of hurdles to make some 'ideas' into something that actually works so a lot of experimentiation and trial & error has occured.

The whole idea of the 'Scan Center' has changed numerous times throughout the project and didn't have much direction until recently. Although the name may still change most of the main features have already been planned out and/or implemented. I will post a followup soon with a list of the main features along with screenshots. To give you a basic idea of what to expect, think of a pimped up version of HLSW that is specific to Half-Life & Mods and accepts scans. I am a big fan of HLSW so I have designed this to reflect the things I like about HLSW and I have added features I wished it had. Don't be fooled though, this is not a clone. lol

As it stands now this is how I feel the project has progressed. It's getting there *wink*

-Cheers

 Scan Center
 Update
Scan Center (Powered by Server Buddy)

Many hours have been put into the new 'Scan Center' client and it is starting to take shape and show a lot of promise.

The 'Scan Center' is an integral part of the Server Buddy project as it provides most of the administrative features of your players & server. All of the scans associated with a server will be proccessed through it's corresponding 'Scan Center'

The 'Scan Center' will be released to the public free of charge as it is not strictly used to process scans. Think of it as a pimped-up version of HLSW specifically designed for specific servers in mind. Administrative control has been extended and enhanced to provide server admins with the tools they require to better manage their servers.

And of course the 'Scan Center' includes a scan processing module that will manage all of the automated tasks associated with accepting scans. Users will need to login using the same credentials used to login to: (http://my.severbuddy.info) in order to activate their scan module if they have that feature available to them.

Admins can still make use of the plentiful features and activate their scan module at a later date when they wish to scan players on their server.

I am happy to say that a lot of work has been completed on this essential part of the Server Buddy Project and I will have updated progress information posted soon.
